Reflection on Writing Commentaries

This commentary by Andy Rooney was one example of a commentary that we watched before we began our unit. Now that we have just finished one of our biggest writing assignments of the year. We can look back and reflect on what we learned. The commentaries that you wrote gave you experience in persuasive writing. For this week’s post, please answer the following questions about the commentaries that you wrote and heard from classmates.

What did you learn from writing a commentary?

Which commentary did you learn the most from after hearing it?

What was your favorite part of this assignment?

What I learned from the commentarys is how many things are going wrong in the world. The commentary from trever I learned the most about it was about bees going exstinct. Now I look at bees diferently. My favorite part of this assignment was filming. I liked filming because I tried really hard on my filming and it turned out great.

I learned that commentarys are not easy to write. You can't just pick up a pencil and write one. you need to do research. I learnd most from Kayla H's because I learned that brest cancer is really imortant that we help people with brest cancer. My favorite part was when we had to film our commentarys.

I learned that you need to have a good start for your story in order to intruigue the reader. I think I actually learned the most from my commentary because of all the research I've done. My favorite part of the assingment was doing the research because I learned a lot about football. The assignment was actually pretty fun.

The person who’s commentary I learned most from is Kate’s not just because she’s my best friend its because she had some pretty good facts like, you burn more calories while sleeping then watching TV. I loved her commentary because she was probably one of the people who had the most facts. In her video she was very pervasive. She told every one that you need more exercise! My favorite part of this assignment was looking up facts and organizing it into Paragraphs. The thing I loved most from this commentary is learning a bunch of facts! I really loved learning facts, listening to other peoples commentaries, and writing my own!

Yes I learned a lot about writing commentary. First you have to say your opening statement. Then you tell your opinion .After that you have to give a story or facts. Then you give a opposite opinion. And last you give a ending statement.

My favorite commentary I learned about was Haiti needs doctors. That was Chloe’s. I liked it because she included important information. And I agree with her Haiti doe’s need doctors.

My favorite part was at the end making the video because I had fun.

I learned that it takes a lot of time to make on commentary and it takes a lot of time to make one and it is hard to try convincing them that you are right. I think that the thing I learned from some ones commentary is that there are not enough supplies in Hatii and that many people do not want to go help and I think that is greedy. My favorite part of the commentary was that it was fun to do all the research and writing because it feels professional.

I learned that commentaries are practically persuasive writing pieces that tell both sides of a topic, person, or event. I learned most from Colin’s commentary about concoctions. His was long, but full of information. I found it to be very interesting, but good. All the commentaries were good, but I think Colin’s was the best.

What I learned about writing my commentary was writing a commentary is not a walk in the park. Commentaries are series business, people write amazing commentaries about famous people and people that are not famous.

The commentary that I learned the most from was Kate. Kate had very strong and I enjoyed watch her read her commentary. Her expression was amazingly strong.

My favorite part of this assignment was researching my topic about Leather Back Sea Turtles I learned a lot of facts about leather backs that I did not know.

I leared alot of things when listening to other classmates commentaries. I i learned about choloria from Chloes which i thought was very good. I would say my favorite commentaries were Kate and Chloes. Kates was very enceraging to tell people to exercise more often and she was really like yelling at the camera, so that really made want to go outside and go play all of these sports. Chloes made me want to go down to Hatti and help people and bring medical supples to help sick people who have choloria when im older. The best thing about our commentaries was all the studying and research about your topic. This was fun for me because you got to watch videos and go on cool websites it was a really fun time for not just me but everyone who did it.

I learned a lot from are class commentary. Like in my commentary I had know idea that if you snowboard wrist is high with injury at 24%! I also didn't know that back was 4% that is high for back. Another thing I learned was bees are endangered! One other thing that I learned was you can have a concussion and not be unconscious.

I liked Kate's commentary because she really meant what she said Kate also had great exertions. She also mad sure everyone knew what she was talking about.

My favorite part of this assignment was that we got to choose what we write about! I also liked how we got to film.

What i learned from writing a commentary was that there are lots of problems in the world and we should do something about it and we should tell more people about the problems so they can take a part in it. I learned the most from hearing about Colin's commentary because i did not know that the coach asked all those questions. My favorite part about doing this commentary was typing the commentary.

In Quinn's comentary it tells me how many people are thrown in jail for silly reasons. In Colin's comentary I learned that there areso many football players who get concussions. What I learned from my comentary is that to be a catcher you have to practice a lot of things to become a good catcher. I learned more about the world when we started the comentaries.
